Sometimes we are asked why the frame is made of oak veneer and not solid oak if they are to be a quality frame. The reason for this is that it's difficult to achieve a controlled surface when dealing with real Oak as there are often colour variations on different parts of the wood which in some contexts fits well. But on a frame, it just risks looking like parts of the frame are discoloured.
By using a real oak veneer consisting of a thin layer of real Oak, you get the perfect oak colour you are after. Veneer can sometimes get a bad rap, but a fine veneer like this only has advantages and gives an authentic and genuine result.
